Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. Local storage also remembers information on your device. This policy covers both when you use CarLink.

Essential storage

These are used to provide services you request and keep them secure. Rejecting optional cookies does not turn off essential storage.

Sign-in session

Keeps you signed in and refreshes your session. Stored in your browser when you sign in; authentication tokens have their own expiry. Sign out to end your session.

Guest support chat — carlink_support_session

A secure cookie identifies your own guest support conversation. Expires after 30 days unless renewed. It is not available to page scripts.

Cookie choices — carlink-cookie-consent

Local storage records whether you accepted or rejected optional categories. Your choice is valid for 180 days, after which we ask again. It may remain stored until replaced or cleared.

Optional analytics and advertising

CarLink currently does not add optional analytics or advertising cookies. Sponsor placements are images and links, not advertising tracking scripts. Accepting optional cookies records permission; it does not add tracking by itself. Any future optional tracking must wait for consent to its category. We will update this policy to identify it before using it.

If you follow a sponsor link or open a payment provider's page, that website has its own cookie policy and choices. Your CarLink choice does not grant consent on another website.

Changing your choices

Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to accept or reject optional categories individually. Both are off before you choose. You can withdraw consent at any time. We also respect changes saved in another tab on the same website.

Your choice applies to this browser and web address. A different device, private window or CarLink domain may ask again. You can delete site data or block cookies in your browser, but this may sign you out or prevent you from returning to a guest support conversation. If storage is blocked, we may ask again on your next visit and optional cookies stay off.
