Who we are
CarLink runs the UK vehicle marketplace at carlink.sale. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us at support@car-link.live.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address, name and sign-in information.
- Seller details: your contact phone number, location or postcode, and the vehicles, photos and videos you list.
- Messages: conversations between buyers and sellers, support chats and support emails.
- Saved searches: filters you choose for email alerts.
- Reviews: the name, rating and comments you publish.
- Payments: records of credits and plans you buy. Card details are handled by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To run your account and publish your listings.
- To let buyers contact sellers by call or message, and to email you about new messages.
- To send the car alerts you ask for — you can unsubscribe from any alert email.
- To take payments and keep billing records.
- To answer support requests and keep the site safe from misuse.
Each thing we do with your information has its own legal basis under UK data protection law:

Where we rely on our legitimate interest, we have weighed it against your rights: we keep the checks to what is needed to run a safe marketplace and use as little of your information as possible.
What others can see
Your listings, photos, videos, location area and published reviews are public. A seller's phone number is shown to buyers who tap "Call seller". Messages are only visible to the people in the conversation and, for support chats, our support team.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run CarLink — website hosting and data storage, payment processing, email delivery and the AI assistant in support chat — and only as needed for them to do that work. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. Payment records may be kept for as long as UK law requires. You can ask us to delete your account and information at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to or limit how we use it, or receive a copy of it. Email support@car-link.live. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
